My friend went to the Bajaj service center to change his silencer, they said that they don't have the  equipment and check in the nearby service center for the same. When he described me the whole situation I was amazed and decided to do a survey to know that how they the new service center, market and survive in the competitive environment, where all the branded names are already established and located well.

location and Background

Its a two wheeler service center in the outskirts of kalpakkam. It is opened, three months back. It is  on rented land, 6500 is the per month’s rent. Praveen has done his MBA from RMK College Chennai in 2011. Since then he is working with his brother. Service center works from 9 AM to 8:30 PM and till 1:30 Pm on Sundays. They also do all the servicing and cleaning of bikes. They  have 8 employees: 3 mechanics, 2 person for washing bikes, 2 girls on help desk for all the paper work and take care of other customers issues and 1 watchman.

Marketing and Repo building

60 bikes to sale this is the aim with which Praveen and his brother was working with. I asked them how such big targets could be achieved even after knowing that, they have two service centers cum showroom nearby. Praveen stated, they already sold around 55 this month and the main reasons are the customer centric approach. They used to give discounts and also provide addition accessories at almost half the cost of other place. More over according to him his brother has a great reputation and makes friends very easily, so most of the deals get finalize their only .Now they’re able to make around 1, 00,000 per month. The petrol pump nearby also helps them a lot. Moreover they have bike from every other company, this makes easy for customer to compare and ask about the different prospects their only. To increase their variety, they have a tie up with Mahindra for the scooty and give money with a week after getting form any OEM. They also used to have an inventory of 20,000 so that in case of demand don’t lag behind and in case of special demand they have the time to bring more parts possible.
